What settings do I use to check mail from my mail software, such as Outlook or Thunderbird?

Use the following settings for your incoming mail (POP3):

Email - accountname@yourdomain.com
Username - accountname+yourdomain.com (that's a +, not an @)
Server name - mail.yourdomain.com
Use secure connection - Yes, TLS if available (may be slightly different on Outlook)
Use secure authentication - No

Use these settings for outgoing mail (SMTP):

Server name - mail.yourdomain.com
Authentication - Yes, use name and password
Username - accountname+yourdomain.com (that's a +, not an @)
Password - your mail account password (will be the same as your control panel password unless you change it)
Use secure connection - No

These settings work for the majority of clients. If these settings don't work for you, first try using an @ instead of the + in the username (for both POP3 and SMTP if there's a username specified for both). If that still isn't working, replace the server name with the IP address for both POP3 and SMTP. You can find your IP address in the welcome email from NOCO Hosting.

Can you tell me what's wrong with my Outlook/Thunderbird/Entourage, etc.?

NOCO Hosting is not an IT services provider. We're happy to provide the information you need to retrieve email from the hosting server to your browser, desktop, laptop or portable device, but we are not responsible for troubleshooting your software or hardware. Go to www.yourdomain.com/webmail/ and use your username and email password to login. Your email password will be the same as your control panel password unless you change it by going to www.yourdomain.com/cpanel/, then clicking on Mail > Add/Remove/Manage Accounts and thenn Password.

CGI/ASP/PHP/MySQL/JSP

None of my cgi scripts are working on the server. How do I get them to work?

Make sure that they are chmodded to 755.

You can rest assured the Comodo SSL certificates we sell have among the highest browser recognition in the industry. To name a few of the browsers: all Internet Explorer 5.00 and above, Netscape 4.x and above, AOL 5 and above and Opera 5 and above and comes pre-installed with all Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS 8.5, Mac OS 9.x, Mac OS X operating systems.

How do I transfer an SSL?

Every company that sells SSL certificates has a different transfer procedure. You will need to ask the company your SSL certificate was purchased from for more information.

Subdomains

What is the difference between parked domains and subdomains?

Subdomain URLs look like forum.domain.com, cat.domain.com, etc. Parked domains are a placeholder site, parked on top of another site and it becomes a single page of the site you park it on.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU CREATE A SUBDOMAIN.

To create a subdomain, cPanel asks for the name you wish to use. MAKE SURE the subdomain name you supply doesn't already have a folder named that name. If it does, the subdomain will not work. If you already have a folder by the same name, you'll need to rename it or delete it before you create the subdomain with the same name.
