SSL Certificates

Increase the trust and confidence of your ecommerce customers by using an SSL certificate - this should be a top priority for your online business. Provide proof of your identity to your customers so they'll be assured that their private information will be secure.

NOCO sells Comodo and GeoTrust private SSL certificates. All SSL certificates require a dedicated IP address, which is $2.00 per month.

You get free installation for any certificate with the purchase of an annual hosting plan.

The Basics of SSL

SSL (secure socket layers) encrypts information as it is transferred across the Internet.

You typically purchase an SSL certificate for 1 year but with NOCO, you can register for up to 3 years. You cannot refund an SSL purchase. If you don't want to renew your SSL certificate, simply allow it to expire (you'll receive a notice before the expiration date).

When it's time to renew SSL, you must purchase and reinstall a new certificate. Buying a multi-year registration reduces the number of times you must reinstall the SSL.

When the SSL certificate is enrolled, you'll receive the final CERTIFICATE, the RSA KEY, and possibly a CA BUNDLE. These will be 3 different groups of alphanumeric data sent from the certificate provider.

Transferring a Certificate

If you already have SSL and change to a new server/host, then you may continue using your existing SSL. Simply install your RSA key and certificate codes to the new server, or contact the host to have them installed for you (there's usually a small fee for this).

Types of SSL for NOCO Hosting Clients

Shared SSL is already in place on the server, will use a NOCO Hosting domain and will cause certificate warning messages to pop up on your site in some browsers. Shared SSL is not enough to protect credit card and other confidential information.

Private SSL (256-bit) will use your domain name and will not cause any warning messages. Private SSL is preferred for protecting credit card and other confidential information.

About GeoTrust

GeoTrust is the world's second-largest digital certificate provider. More than 100,000 customers in over 150 countries trust GeoTrust to secure online transactions and conduct business over the Internet.

About Comodo:

Comodo is an industry leader in digital certificates, as trusted as the more expensive Verisign and Thawte certificates. Over 200,000 sites worldwide rely on Comodo.
